Main Asian Marriage Traditions

In Central Asia, a marriage is a significant event that reflects the area’s wandering story. Although some norms were outlawed during the 60 to 70 years of Soviet/russian process, wedding continues to be a large occasion. This is essentially because of the fact that the families in this region kazakhstan girls for marriage are usually massive, and each has its own exclusive traditions.

In the past, a pair would spend time with their families before arranging their marriage. The ceremony was commonly held in fall or late summers, when the climate is cooler and inexpensive food is available. The couple’s household would prepare a great dinner and her female cousins would offer her gifts. In some regions the couple’s household would pay a dowry to the bride’s family, which could include horses, cattle, money, stitching or clothing.

The potential man and his male relatives would then kidnap the woman ( in the old nomadic times, by horses, nowadays, by automobile). He may finally get her to the house of his parents or his community. His father and elder relatives may try to persuade the bride to put on a white shawl that signified her endorsement of the union, or risk pain and even death. This practise, known as ala kachuu, was outlawed during the Communist age, but it appears to be making a return.

On the day of the bride, the girl would be sent with her marriage wagon to the groom’s property. She had be expected to walk it barefoot, and on the manner she was supposed to be showered with chocolates and currencies. She also had to croon goodnight melodies before she left her filial household, such as the famous Kyrgyz track Koshtasi Zhari.
